Ashley Johnson is a state licensed Certified Professional Midwife. She has a passion for
supporting women and their families through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. As a wife and mother of six, she knows through personal experience how important staying healthy and taking care of yourself is and feels that midwifery care creates an optimal environment for women to be supported and learn to make self-care a priority. Ashley began her journey into birth work as a labor doula in 2010. Through the combined experiences of her own deliveries and those of her doula clients, she chose homebirth for the birth of her fourth child. After that experience she felt a strong call to begin her path to midwifery. She completed a very extensive four year apprenticeship with local midwives, had two more home deliveries herself in the process, and successfully completed the requirements of the North American Registry of Midwives to become a Certified Professional Midwife in the summer of 2018. She is very excited to pursue her passion and help women have the empowering, safe, and respectful birth that they desire. |
